Large, clean, quaint, comfortable, animal friendly house out in the beautiful country.

We were in the area for a wedding at the Mohican Grand Barn wedding venue and had multiple extended family members and friends staying with us. The house was plenty large enough for all. We wish we could have stayed an extra day just to enjoy sitting on the porch and relaxing while watching the llamas, goats and ducks on the surrounding farm. Lots of room for people to be off by themselves or to join together and socialize. The small cabin in the back is adorable. The owner, Shane, is very friendly and accommodating. There are just a couple of things about this house that you should know if you are having a large number of unrelated people staying there. There are two bathrooms but only one real shower. The upstairs bath has a tub. This wasn't a problem for us as we were all headed out at different times, but could be a problem for some. In addition, the 3 upstairs rooms are connected to each other (with doors, of course) but the middle room (queen bed) has to go through one of the other rooms to reach the upstairs or downstairs bathroom. Again, not a big problem if people are flexible. Overall, one of the nicest places I have ever had the pleasure of renting!

The Christmas Decorations left up for our celebration added the Extra Special Touch

We arrived concerned that this old farmhouse would be warm enough with the low temperatures. It was not only snuggly but the extra special care to leave it decorated for Christmas added a smile to all family members. We enjoyed the animals, upstairs claw tub and great farmhouse table for meals and games. thx so much for making our Christmas gathering special.

Perfect Holiday Home

We stayed here for Christmas and had a wonderful time! What a lovely property with the large pond, alpacas, sheep and roosters. We arrived at night when all the outdoor Christmas lights were lit and it looked magical. I can imagine how lovely the home would be in warmer weather with that great big wrap around porch and property. The character of the different rooms made the home especially warm and welcoming. Best place in the Mohican area!

We love the Farmhouse!

The Mohican Farmhouse is always clean, comfortable, and cozy. Our group of animal-loving, crafty ladies wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Great fun

We stayed for Labor Day weekend. The house was perfect for our needs. Beds were comfortable. We loved the animals: goats, llamas, alpaca, sheep, rabbit, chickens/roosters, 2 barn cats, fish and frogs in pond. It was fun to feed the animals with the provided food bags at $1/bag. You can't easily hear the roosters from inside the house. We hiked at Mohican State Park. Kids fell in love with the barn cats. Gravy, the barn cat, sneaked inside house once. He was easy to pick up and bring back outside. After that we were more careful to keep doors latched. Very cute cat. Owners were friendly. Our dog loved the area too.

Relaxing family retreat

Hi Shane, Thank you for the relaxing vacation at your Mohican farmhouse. We had everything we needed at the home, along with plenty to do close by...swimming, hiking, canoeing, etc. It was fun for all ages. My grandkids loved the animals and the secret play area under the trees. Gravy was a sneaky cat getting through the screen on the porch, and the chickens were a little pesty, but I understand animalsfrom growing up on a farm. I have other family members asking for information on renting, which I will happily pass along. Thanks again for everything.

Beautiful and peaceful Location.

Wonderful place for families to gather. The children loved it. The teens enjoyed the trails and canoe livery down the road. Camp fires at night. Everything we needed was available. Just bring your food and toiletries. Would highly recommend and definitely return.

Absolutely beautiful

This property is maintain to perfection. The original log cabin turned has been turned into a master bedroom with sliding barn doors. Every nook and cranny has been made into useable space and decorated appropriately. Old is mixed with new to create a stunning yet comfortable " This Old House". Kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable. The house was immaculate. The guest house was a great bonus. The grounds were lovely, well manicured with roses and lilies abounding.

Idyllic country farmhouse and cottage

This farmhouse looked great online but it is even better when you drive up and then when you see the charming interior you may never want to leave! It surpassed our expectations. We stayed here for my daughter's graduation from Kenyon and it provided a much needed space for the family to gather, relax, talk, and enjoy time with the new graduate. The screened in porch was a huge favorite for morning coffee listening to the musical orchestra provided by the many birds and watching the lamas, sheep, chickens and bunnies. It is easy to see that careful thought was put into the various spaces to enjoy both the indoors and the outdoors. It was lovely for my 82 year old mother was able to come as there is a first floor bedroom with a walk in shower. We grilled on the deck one night and then moved inside to enjoy an intimate dinner celebrating the new graduate. Can't imagine a more perfect spot. Thank you
